Meet your teacher!

My name is Jimmy Grant I taught myself to play gypsy jazz in the small, rural town of Durham, California (population 6,337) when I was in high school.

After that, I started working at a grocery store, eventually working my way up to management positions (cutting meat—not the best job for a guitarist!). During this time, I also taught myself gypsy jazz. I had to be efficient with my practice because I was often working 65-80 hours a week!

Because of **how** I practiced, I was able to reach a level where I've traveled the world, performing with some of the best musicians in the style—Paulus Schaefer, Gonzalo Bergara, Olli Soikelli, Tim Kliphuis, and many more.

"I have taken private lessons from Jimmy Grant and been in his group classes, and he is as good a teacher as he is a player. He explains things well, and is very supportive, whatever your ability level. You will learn practical pointers about how to survive in a jam session. He goes light on the technical music theory talk.

Very highly recommended."
